Step by step to becoming a recognised global player. Umcor AG was founded in 2003 with its headquarters in Zurich and has developed into a major trade and production group with an international presence and over 1,000 employees in the area of non-ferrous metal markets.

The milestones that have shaped us: In the year 2009 we began producing high-quality copper powder for industrial applications. Our innovative plant in Germany has since developed into the largest producer of electrolytic copper powders with over 1,100 different product specifications.

In 2011 we successfully began co-operating with leading European cable manufacturers in the field of copper wire rods.

The Montanwerke Brixlegg group was acquired by Umcor in 2012. Operations conducted at this site include the production of copper cathodes, round bars and cakes from secondary materials. Various precious metals (gold, silver, platinum, palladium) and chemical products (dicopper chloride trihydroxide, iron silicate slag and nickel sulphate) are accrued as by-products of the copper extraction.

At the same time, in 2012, the French group Gindre Duchavany was also acquired, which has specialised in the production and distribution of products for the electrical industry.
